Program Outcomes - Civil Engineering Program



It is anticipated that the following outcomes will be achieved:

1. Graduates will have acquired sound technical (math, science, and engineering) competency deemed necessary for a professional engineering career.

2. Graduates will have acquired the professional (oral, written, cooperative and communication) skills deemed necessary for a professional engineering career.

3. Graduates will have a strong technical foundation and training in the use of modern tools necessary for engineering design and problem solving in real-world situations.

4. Graduates will have an understanding of the contemporary issues and the impacts of engineering solutions in a global and societal context necessary for career advancement.

5. Graduates will be well prepared for professional licensure in civil engineering, with 90% of them already completed the first step by passing the FE examination before graduation.

6. Graduates will recognize the need for, and have acquired, self-learning and life-long learning skills essential for professional growth after graduation.

7. Graduates will, by virtue of the above traits, exact professional positions, satisfying employer needs as well as their own career goals.

8. The program will have satisfied all the criteria requirements for accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET.
